The lucky Strike Hour was an early major network variety show, which encompassed a variety of formats during it's run in the early 30s, including a "show within a show" format.
The industrydocumentslibrary.ucsf.edu/tobacco/ website has a number of PDF image files from "The Lucky Strike Hour" of 1933. These are notable for featuring comic Jack Pearl who created a brief national sensation in his radio guise as "Baron Munchausen", teller of tall tales.
